Psoriasis / Light Box Treatment

Phototherapy and photochemotherapy are skin treatment methods that utilize ultraviolet light alone or ultraviolet light in combination with medication to treat skin diseases. The type of phototherapy appropriate for a particular patient depends on the disease being treated, the location and extent of the disease over the patient's body and the susceptibility of the disease to phototreatment. The availability of phototherapy in the dermatologist's office is essential to the comprehensive management of psoriasis and several other skin diseases and may prevent the need to refer a patient elsewhere for phototherapy. Eastern Dermatology and Pathology has up-to-date phototherapy equipment and extensive experience in the treatment of patients with phototherapy. In fact many patients are referred to our Greenville and New Bern offices for phototherapy because of the unavailability of that treatment in other locations.
