Sclerotherapy (Leg Vein Therapy)

     Sclerotherapy is a safe and effective means of eradicating unsightly superficial leg veins. The procedure is performed by the doctor in the office with minimal discomfort to the patient. Sclerotherapy consists of injecting a solution into the leg vein with a very small needle. The solution, which can be a saline solution or a specially developed chemical solution, causes the vein to close and eventually become absorbed by the body. Multiple treatment sessions are usually necessary.
